DATA FROM 2008 Please send in any new records for the database as soon as possible. See the 'Submitting records' link at the left for details and advice. SNH has provided a grant for the update and mobilisation of our database. Use our datasets on www.searchnbn.net.

2 Jan 2009 An unusual sea-fish, Ray's bream Brama brama, was found on the Dornoch Firth on 28 December.  See the photograph in the Forum
25 Dec 2008 Unseasonal winter sightings in the past few days have included the ant Formica lemani and Palmate Newt.  For the latter, see the photograph in the Forum.
9 Dec 2008 An update to the Scottish Aculeate List (v. 1.0.4) is now available.  Click link on left.
28 Nov 2008 Liz Holden found a fungus new to Britain in Rothiemurchus recently.  This is the latest exciting find by the growing band of Highland mycologists.  Picture.
